Compatible VR Headsets

Ensure you have the correct equipment for using IMMERSE in virtual reality.

Updated this week

IMMERSE offers a dynamic and lifelike language learning environment. With intuitive physics and vast, colorful scenery, the experience feels like real life. For the most immersive feeling the use of VR is recommended - which enhances the feeling of dynamic, lifelike actions through spatial audio and haptic feedback.

⚠️IMMERSE does not provide VR headsets. You will need to purchase one separately from major electronics retailers or order online.

Supported VR Headsets

To download and use the IMMERSE VR app, you will need one of the following Meta Quest headsets:

  • Meta Quest 2

  • Meta Quest 3

  • Meta Quest 3S

  • Meta Quest Pro

ℹ️ Why can’t I use IMMERSE on other VR headsets?

IMMERSE is currently only compatible with Meta Quest 2 and newer headsets. As a Quest for Education partner, we work directly with Meta to optimize the platform for their devices, using their VR system and login tools to manage performance, controller input, and account access.

Other headsets (like Pico, HTC, Apple Vision Pro, or the original Oculus Quest) use different operating systems and authentication methods, so IMMERSE is not configured to connect or run properly on them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is hand-tracking available in IMMERSE?

Given the complexity of the hotkey combinations required for our immersive world, a no-controller option is unlikely to ever be fully compatible. However, we are actively developing a one-handed accessibility feature.

What should I do if I have one of these headsets, but am experiencing an issue with IMMERSE VR?
