🚀 What's New in IMMERSE
This update brings a new level for our Portuguese learners, a smarter speech recognition system, and push notifications on mobile — plus a batch of fixes across the platform. Here's everything that's new.
🌍 Portuguese Level 5 Is Here
Portuguese learners can now progress all the way to Level 5 (B2 CEFR).
- New learners can be placed directly into Level 5 during onboarding if they meet the requirements
- Existing learners can access Level 5 through their account settings
- A new level-up assessment helps Level 4 learners find out if they're ready to move up
🎙️ Smarter Speech Recognition
We've upgraded the speech recognition system behind self-paced lessons and Coach, on both web and mobile.
- Better recognition of accents and slightly imperfect pronunciation
- Improved support for learners who mix their target language and native language while speaking with the AI
🔔 Push Notifications on Mobile
The IMMERSE mobile app now supports push notifications, so you can stay on top of your learning without opening the app.
🎯 Continued Improvements to Capture
We've made small design refinements to the Capture tab, and our coaching AI keeps getting smarter under the hood — helping every Coached conversation feel a little more natural over time.
🛠️ Bug Fixes & Improvements
We've resolved several issues across the platform for a smoother experience:
VR Fixes:
- Leaving the placement test or tutorial now shows a clear message that you're exiting, instead of a long, unexplained loading screen
- Lecture screens now correctly display longer blocks of text without getting cut off
Web & Mobile Fixes:
- Japan-based learners now see subscription pricing in Yen at checkout
- Speech-to-text is now less likely to time out
- Upcoming classes now display correctly in the welcome flow
- Fixed an issue where classes with long descriptions could not be booked on mobile
🧑💼 For Program Administrators
A few updates for those managing IMMERSE for their teams:
- Custom date ranges are now available as a filter in the learner view
- Filtering learners by starting level, or by all levels, now returns accurate results
- HR Admins who belong to multiple institutions no longer see incorrect custom fields when adding a new learner
- "Add Learner" is now always selectable, even when "All Contracts" is selected
- Fixed an issue where certain timed self-paced activities could inflate a learner's time-on-site in reporting
